Our farm, Sauvie Island Organics, is looking for hard working individuals that are passionate about farming and the local food movement, appreciates and understands that customers are people, and can drive a large delivery truck safely from our farm into and around Portland.
The new delivery driver will represent our farm and it’s crew, so it’s very important that you have a positive attitude, are able to embody the values and work ethic of Sauvie Island Organics, and can creatively troubleshoot and meet challenges joyfully. We are interested in starting a relationship with a driver who wants to grow and thrive with us for many years to come.
Job Summary:
We are currently hiring two drivers for our Restaurant deliveries, with each position working a minimum of Wednesday and Friday, with possible routes on Monday, Tuesday and/or Thursday. There is also additional potential for working with us on CSA deliveries. Start times change with the seasons, but range between 6:30-8:00am and end when the route is completed, which can be as late at 4-5pm on a long day. We estimate that each driver will be employed approximately 15-20 hours per week (or more) doing deliveries and can join our field crew if desired to create a more full-time employment scenario.
You will team up with our pack house crew to load all of the appropriate produce and materials onto your truck, get to each of the drop sites in a timely and safe manner, and ensure that all of our delicious produce ends up in the right places around Portland!
